Retail Parks Footfall Report: London Rises in Week 33, 2024

Retail parks in the UK have demonstrated varied performance in footfall, dwell time, and weekday visitation across different regions, according to the latest footfall data from Huq Industries. As of the week ending August 25, 2024, the South West region reported slight week-on-week decrease in average footfall of 0.2%. In contrast, London saw a more positive trend with a 0.7% increase week-on-week.

Dwell times, which indicate the average duration visitors spend at retail parks, also varied significantly. Wales reported the highest average dwell time resulting from a notable increase of 8.3% from the previous week. The East Midlands saw a decrease in dwell time by 5.1% week-on-week.

Weekday visitation shares, which reflect the proportion of visits occurring during weekdays, showed that the North West had the highest share at 50.8%, marking a 2.8% increase from the previous week. Meanwhile, Wales experienced the largest drop in this metric, with a 17.5% decrease to 41.9%.
