High Streets And Town Centres Footfall Report, Week 45 2024: Wales Struggles

Huq Industries’ latest footfall data reveals varied trends in footfall, dwell time, and weekday visitation across different regions of the UK.

High Streets & Town Centres Daily Footfall

London experienced a notable increase in average daily footfall with strong year-on-year growth, making it one of the standout regions this week. Conversely, Wales saw a significant decrease in footfall year-on-year.

Dwell time, which measures the average duration visitors spend at a location, also saw interesting shifts. The West Midlands reported a strong year-on-year increase in dwell time, suggesting that visitors are spending more time per visit. On the other hand, the South West experienced a decrease in dwell time compared to the previous year.

Weekday visitation shares, indicating the proportion of visits occurring on weekdays, also varied. The North East saw a significant increase in weekday visitation while the South West observed a decrease.

These insights are crucial for retailers and commercial real-estate companies to understand regional consumer behaviour and adjust their strategies accordingly.
